Volunteer with WriteGirl:
WriteGirl welcomes energetic women of diverse professional backgrounds.
WritegIrlJoin an energetic community of professional women dedicated to empowering teen girls in Los Angeles through creative writing and self-expression. WriteGirl is looking for volunteers to work on projects ranging from event planning and public relations to writing curriculum and editing publications. Or engage in a one-to-one mentorship with a teen girl that mutually enriches both her life and yours.

Apply your professional skills, explore your personal passions and make a difference in a young woman’s life. All you need are tenacious communication skills, a love of writing and the willingness to show up. New volunteer trainings and orientations will be held early next year.

All WriteGirl volunteers are required to complete an application. For more information about volunteering with WriteGirl click here.

HOW TO APPLY

In addition to the application, please submit your resume and two writing samples (any length, any genre) within the body of an email to volunteer@writegirl.org. These do not need to be published creative writing samples – we just need to know that you have competent writing skills, since that’s what we’re all about! Feel free to send samples of your business or marketing writing, or even personal journal entries.

New volunteer trainings and orientations will be held on February 9, 2008.

Are you a high school girl in Los Angeles?

WritegIrlAre you interested in exploring poetry, songs, screenplays, fiction and other kinds of creative writing? Would you like a professional woman writer to mentor you and help you with your writing? If your answers are yes, then WriteGirl is the right place for you.

Our monthly interactive workshops and one-on-one mentoring from professional women writers in Los Angeles will give you techniques, tools and tips to electrify your writing. You will be joining a growing community of women writers where you can express yourself freely, share your ideas, expand your creativity and develop strong communication skills.
WritegIrlParticipation in WriteGirl can help you get your work published, improve your academic performance and turn your ideas, stories and creative vision into powerful messages that can impact the world!
