WRITEGIRL LAUNCHES 14TH ANTHOLOGY

Introducing 190 stories from teen girls and their WriteGirl mentors. Stories of discovery, courage and resilience. From Boyle Heights to Santa Monica, these stories weave together an Emotional Map of Los Angeles. It's WriteGirl's 14th anthology!

For our newest anthology, we looked to our very own city for inspiration! WriteGirl teens and their mentors crafted original pieces from neighborhoods all across Los Angeles to create a book that offers a fresh perspective on a city you thought you knew. With 14 anthologies and 71 book awards, WriteGirl is excited to add Emotional Map of Los Angeles to our collection.

WriteGirl was honored by First Lady Michelle Obama with the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award

An initiative of the President’s Committee on the Arts & the Humanities (PCAH). The President’s Committee partners with the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to administer the program.

WriteGirl is a creative writing and mentoring organization that promotes creativity, critical thinking and leadership skills to empower teen girls.

WriteGirl is a project of Community Partners, a nonprofit charity exempt from federal income tax under
Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
