Art inspires poetry inspires art. WriteGirl is proud to be partnering with THREE artistic institutions for this special day of exploring poetry. Color, shape, texture, sound...your senses will come alive at this all-day extravaganza to help guide your unique poetic voice. Renowned poets will share insights and techniques, and of course, we will end the day with the annual, “WriteGirl Poetry Cafe,” where you are invited to share some of your poetry and passion!

There’s a song in you! When words alone are not enough, crafting the lyrics to a song will take your emotions and ideas to the next level. Stellar singer/songwriters will help coach you in channeling your emotions into creating a song. Making the Scene: A Character and Dialogue Pop-Up – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences’ Linwood Dunn Theater, Hollywood. 
Make a scene! In your journal, that is. Learn how to write a monologue, read a script, and make something for the stage. Also, get ready to make a scene that can be ready to perform later that evening at Lights, Camera, WriteGirl!
(includes SECOND parent meeting for the season at 2pm)

Lights, Camera, WriteGirl! Benefit – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences’ Linwood Dunn Theater, Hollywood
This fundraising event is perhaps the most Instagram-worthy event of the WriteGirl season. Watch actors (seriously, real red carpet actors!) perform pieces written by the girls earlier in that day’s workshop.

Don't Drop the Mic: A Performance Pop-Up – Self-Help Graphics in downtown LA
Does the thought of speaking in front of an audience make you sweat like it’s nobody’s business? No prob. Get ready for the season-end celebration and learn the basics of being on stage in this workshop. Get tips on how to become comfortable and confident speaking to a crowd.
