WriteGirl Member Salome Agbaroji Named 2022 LA Youth Poet Laureate

WriteGirl member Salome Agbaroji has been named Los Angeles Youth Poet Laureate for the 2022-23 year!

She is succeeding poet Jessica Kim, a WriteGirl mentee! This year, 12 additional WriteGirl mentees and alums were recognized as finalists or honorable mentions including: Amelia Namita Pinto, Alex Santiago, Milissa Sutton, Jazzmin Joya, Shandela Contreras, Ariana Maria Virginia Perez, Rhiann Sheffie, Flora White, Camila Delacerda, Sofia Isabella Flores, Althea Aguel, Colette Rogers, and Kate Taylor.

As discos create hair dos undone

Strobe light, lipstick transfer 

Make midriff glisten

Accept the bliss, manifest,

And bless it

With the heart in the 

Palm of your hands.
